When it comes to automotive recycling and the environment, Ralph's Auto Supply is clearly recognized by the British Columbia Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks (MELP) as the leader in pollution prevention.
Our A- Scott Discount division has been used by the Ministry since 1993 as a role model for auto recycling in this province.
In addition, the operations of our A-Scott Discount division were used as a base by the British Columbia Automotive Recyclers association (B-CAR) to develop an Environment Canada sponsored, Best Management Practices document contained in the Environmental Code of Practice for Automotive Recyclers in British Columbia.
Ralph's is very proud of the equipment and systems, all developed in house, that we've implemented to achieve this leadership role.
Ralph's A-Scott division was the first operation in Western Canada with "Certified Automotive Recycler" status (all three stages), as awarded by the Automotive Recyclers Association, Virginia, USA. A-Scott was the recipient of The City of Surrey's 1996 Corporate/Business Environmental Achievement Award. The previous recipient was Detroit Diesel Allison.
Ralph's President, Neil James, has personally won the City of Richmond's 1998 Individual Environmental Achievement Award.
Ralph's Empire has just received the City of Abbotsford's 2001 Environmental Recognition Award as one of four Abbotsford facilities representing the nominated B.C. Automotive Recyclers (B-CAR). Empire, along with 3 other recyclers in Abbotsford, achieved compliance to the Environmental Code of Practice one full year ahead of the city's 3 year mandatory compliance program
